MET wishes you a Healthy and Prosperous 2008. Below we have listed a few of our 2007 highlights. |
| |
1. January 2007, MET provided its first seminar series in China. This two day event, held in Shenzhen, discussed regulatory requirements of both NEBS and consumer products for the North American marketplace. Partner labs SGS China, Hong Kong Standards and Testing Center - STC, Shenzhen Academy of Metrology and Quality Inspection - SMQ and ROHS expert Dr. Craig Hillman of DfR Solutions, Rockville, MD joined MET to provide a wide range of information.
MET's expanding role in Asia included certifying Hauwei China's in-house Reliabilty Lab for NEBS testing and certifying Mitsubishi Electric of Nagasaki, Japan for Category Certification Program. This certification applies to a product line of
video display units that when assembled in the field, form the large viewing screens employed in arenas and ballparks. The Category Certification Program allows a client to supply their own test and
evaluation data and reports in our format for certification. These programs requires auditing, witnessing and confidence building.

| 2. One business sector that certainly has seen an increase in interest is watthour meter testing.
MET Laboratories, Inc. has become the first organization to be recognized by Measurement Canada under their new program RT-01 Conditions and Administrative Requirements for the Recognition of Test Results from ISO 17025 accredited Test Facilities.
This recognition from Measurement Canada allows MET Laboratories to test previously approved electricity power meters which have been modified and are being re-submitted for approval purposes. This is the first time that Measurement Canada has recognized an outside organization for adjunct testing service. |
|
 |
MET has added automated testing of watthours meters to its myriad of testing services. The WECO 2300 True Three Phase
Automated Electric Meter Test System (pictured above) is a microprocessor controlled single station KWH comparator and KW demand testing unit. The 2300 meter test system is of modular construction, and is designed to test both socket meters, and A base meters with the proper A base adapter installed.
With the advent of deregulation of electric utilities, MET has seen a marked increase in the request of watt-hour meter manufacturers asking MET to perform accuracy and safety testing.
MET is always aware of our customers unique testing needs and constantly adds test equipment and upgrades software to minimize the time spent testing your product. |

200 V/m Radiated Suspectibility Testing. MET's EMC Labs on both coasts can perform the complete range of Radiated Immunity and Suspectibility tests specified in RS 101, 103, and 105 of MIL-STD 461E.
MET's New EMP test set-up for RS 105 Radiated Susceptibility, Transient EM Field.
MET designed and installed a new EMP test setup, for “RS 105 Radiated Susceptibility, Transient EM Field” per MIL-STD-461D/E. This test is applicable to Enclosures located external to a hardened (shielded) platform or facility. Applicable to Army Aircraft for Safety Critical Equipment located in an external installation. With the addition of this new EMP test setup MET can now perform MIL-STD-461D/E testing in entirety. |
MET’s Fiber Optic Testing Lab is one of the few labs located on the East Coast to have DSCC approval. A sampling of the MIL Standards we test to for fiber optic components and systems are:
MIL-PRF-28876
MIL-PRF-29504
MIL-C-83522
MIL-PRF-83526
MIL-PRF-85045
