HALT/HASS is one of industry's more widely accepted means of determining reliability of a product through accelerated reliability testing. The twin main stresses employed during HALT/ HASS are rapid temperature transitions and random vibration. This double dose of extreme exposure will reveal defects most likely to occur in the field, in real life application. This seminar will go into greater depth on the specifics of the various applied stresses, test set up fixturing, and developing matrixes for test results.

Our new Santa Clara lab has multiple temperature/humidity chambers and comprehensive vibration testing that includes:
- random
- shock
- sine
- sine on random
- random on random
- transport vibration
- full ISTA testing
- transmissibility analysis

Our Santa Clara facility provides equipment set up rooms, customer lounges and has wireless internet provisions thoughout the building.
Located just minutes from the San Jose airport, and just 2 exits down US 101 from our previous Santa Clara location, finding us is no problem. Here are directions.

Our HALT/HASS Qualmark Typhoon 2.5 chamber has a temperature range of +200° C to -100° C, with a max ramp rate of >60C/min.. It has a vibration range of 50 Grms (10Hz to 5kHz) and 60 Grms (10Hz to 1kHz). It is the perfect test chamber for both Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) and Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) applications.

MET's Baltimore Environmental Simulation Lab Provides Angled Rain Tests and has Two Solar Radiation Chambers
Baltimore's Environmental Simulation Lab is A2LA* accredited and fully geared to meet GR-487-Core requirements for outdoor enclosures, with testing affinities to MIL-STDs 810, 108, ASTM GR-85, IEC 60529, RTCA D0160, and other commercial standards.
Among the more specialized tests Baltimore's environmental lab performs are:
- loose cargo testing
- fungus testing
- salt-fog testing (corrosion testing)
- angled rain tests
- solar radiation testing
In addition, MET has an in-house machine shop, with a certified welder, that makes test set up and fixturing here at MET a possible alternative for the manufacturer having to do this at their facility.

MET Laboratories has been a pioneer in environmental siimulation testing services. MET was one of the first tests labs approached by Belcore in the early 1990's to take on overflow NEBS testing. MET continues to be in the forefront of the standard's industry constantly adding and improving test equipment. More about MET's environmental simulation testing. |

MET's Midwestern Region Representative
| Many of you may have had the pleasure of working with Amber Manganello as your sales representative. Sadly, Amber has left Baltimore for Chicago, but happily, Amber is now busy in her new role as MET’s Midwestern Region Sales Representative. She can still be reached via her Baltimore phone line - 410.949.1816. Her email amanganello@metlabs.com is unchanged. Clients of MET, who have worked with Amber, feel free to congratulate and wish her luck. We here at MET's Baltimore lab, will miss her but wish her much success in her newest MET role in Illinois. |
