MET certifies Mitsubishi Electric of Nagasaki, Japan for Category Certification Program. Mitsubishi Electric's, Nagasaki, Japan factory has qualified for a product line of
video display units that when assembled in the field, form the large viewing screens employed in arenas and ballparks. The Category Certification Program allows a client to supply their own test and
evaluation data and reports in our format for certification. This program requires auditing, witnessing and confidence building.

IECEE expands scope of MET Labs' NCB and CBTL within the IECEE Scheme for Certification
of Electrical Equipment and Components
The IECEE has increased MET's Scope as a National Certificaton Body (NCB). MET's expanded scope now includes the latest editions of IEC 60950-1 (OFF category - IT and Office Equipment), IEC 61010-1 (MEAS category - Measuring Instruments), IEC 60601-1 (MED category - Electrical equipment for medical use) and IEC 60065 (TRON category - Electronics, entertainment). MET's New Testing Capabilites
1. High Current Test Set - This new test set simulates short circuit current up to 12,000 amps RMS at 60Hz. This test set is used in ANSI C12 testing of electricity meters and circuit breakers.
2. Weathering Chamber - Xenon Arc weather simulation chamber provides full spectrum sunlight (ultraviolet, visible and infrared light), coupled with a water spray option that fullfills full featured accelerated weathering, as specified in ASTM G1565 for non-metallic and plastic material, as well as test parameters outlined in automotive standards SAE J2412 and J2527, and AATCC Method 16 Option 3, for textiles. Pictured above is Rick Cooper, MET's Product Safety Lab Director. Rick manages a seasoned team of product safety engineers and oversees the administrative and technical aspects of US and Canadian product safety certification. Under his tenure thousands of products have been evaluated and labeled with the MET Mark. Transferring his telecom background to IT equipment evaluations, he now oversees an extremely busy lab testing the full range of products covered by the over 150 product cetegories.

Wheelchair Testing
MET provides comprehensive Electric and Mechanical Wheelchair Testing
to ANSI/RESNA, SADMERC Code, CE Marking EMC testing and for FDA Clearance.
We test and report for compliance with the ANSI/RESNA standard for powered wheelchairs and scooters and also for the European standard EN 12184. We also can provide testing services for SADMERC coding purposes.
