MET's Santa Clara Open House was a successful and happy event. A large turnout, over 100 engineers from the area, came by to visit and to check out our newest laboratory. The response, judged by the number of quote requests, was significant. |

MET Labs has now opened the newest and most advanced EMC test lab in the country. The new Santa Clara lab includes a 10 meter chamber, a 5 meter chamber and compact chamber, two screen rooms and additional test areas. The lab is fully equipped and accredited for global Emc and wireless testing plus NEBS testing.
The 10 meter chamber in Santa Clara is fully automated for:
1) Radiated emission 10 KHz - 18 GHz
2) Conducted emission 10 KHz - 30 MHz.
MET's Santa Clara EMC lab, by employing a dual antennae process, can simultaneously prescan 30 MHz - 1 GHz and 1 GHz - 10 GHz for radiated emissions compliance in LESS than 20 minutes, saving more than an hour in time.

| MET Partners with Nemko at opening in China
MET was an invited guest to the formal opening of the Chinese headquarters for Nemko in Shanghai on Friday, March 7th. MET signed an agreement with Nemko whereby Nemko can offer MET's NRTL North American Safety Certification services along with Nemko services such as CB report and GS mark to customers worldwide.
One Nemko client benefiting from this alliance, is Acer Corporation. Acer relies on Nemko for CB and GS mark and has chosen MET for safety certification on their products. Acer is one of largest computer manufacturers in the world. They have also acquired the Gateway brand. Currently, their product range includes desktops, laptops and servers. Their products will be sold in Wal-mart, Target, Radio Shack, Best Buy and other major retailers.

MET’s Asia office provides product safety testing and certification services for manufacturers in China and in the Far East. Headquartered in Shenzhen, China, MET’s product safety engineers evaluate manufacturing facilities, and in-house capabilities and team with local partner test labs for product safety certification testing. This certification is required to access the North American marketplace, and is a legal alternative to UL.

| MET performs RFID readability tests for passport cards intended for use in North America |
LaserCard Corporation, a leading provider of secure ID solutions to governments and commercial clients around the world, has commissioned MET Laboratories to perform a series of tests to determine if the
addition of an optical memory strip has any effect on the readability of
an embedded GEN2 RFID chip on the same card.Two different EPCglobal Gen
2 certified readers were employed to measure the read ranges within an
open office environment and within a semi-anechoic chamber with RF
absorbing material on the ground.
MET Labs is the exclusive test lab of EPCglobal Inc., managing the joint Hardware Certification Program, the Software Certification Program, Performance Test Center Accreditation Program and the Approved RFID Testing Center (ARTC) Program. MET is the preferred test lab for validation of end-users RFID implementations and for customized RFID testing tailored to customer specifications.

MET's versatile environmental simulation lab is called upon by a diverse lot of manufacturers and government agencies for testing to a wide range of parameters. Pictured left is a test configuration per ASTM F2132-01, for testing Puncture Resistance of Materials Used in Containers for
Discarded Medical Needles and Other Sharps, as requested by a manufacturer of containers for hypodermic needles.
MET Labs is certified by ISTA for the full ISTA's TRANSIT TESTED packaging test program, made up of the following procedures:
