| MET Santa Clara Environmental Lab Open House - June 3 |
MET's newest test facility in Silicon Valley is proud to announce HALT/HASS testing services by showcasing the newly completed, state of the art, environmental simulation laboratory with an open house June 3, from 2 PM to 7 PM.
Our Santa Clara lab provides comprehensive vibration testing, including: - random
- shock
- sine
- sine on random
- random on random
- transport vibration
- full ISTA testing
- transmissibility analysis

Located just minutes from the San Jose airport, and just 2 exits down US 101 from our previous Santa Clara location, finding us is no problem. Here are directions.

Our HALT/HASS Qualmark Typhoon 2.5 chamber has a temperature range of +200° C to -100° C, with a max ramp rate of 200° C / min. It has a vibration range of 50 Grms (10Hz to 5kHz) and 60 Grms (10Hz to 1kHz). It is the perfect test chamber for both Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) and Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) applications.

MET is the host server for EPCglobal Network™ EPCIS Validation Portal Self-testing Beta testing will begin next week (week of May 12th, 2008) on the eagerly anticipated EPCIS Validation Portal. This self-testing method of validating electronic product code (EPC) was previewed at the RFID Journal conference last month and also reviewed by EPCGlobal Joint Action Group (JAG), where it was well received. This portal provides a method to analyze a user's EPCIS data via the world wide web. A user signs up on-line, using a credit card (or offline payment through an EPC Member Organization) and then submits EPCIS data for testing. The system instantly analyzes the input data and report results, that can be printed out for future reference. The system checks for 68 types of errors, and provides a summary analysis of the input data, including:
- types of EPCIS events used
- vocabulary analysis
- location analysis
- EPC analysis
- extension fields analysis
In addition to validating the data meets EPCglobal standards, it will also verify that such data as Purchase Order number, date of arrival, any other pertinent business data is being read. MET hosts the server for this validation portal, and will assist in some administrative aspects and will assist in the interpretation of results is such service is requested.
MET Labs is the exclusive test lab of EPCglobal Inc., managing the joint Hardware Certification Program, the Software Certification Program, Performance Test Center Accreditation Program and the Approved RFID Testing Center (ARTC) Program. MET is the preferred test lab for validation of end-users RFID implementations and for customized RFID testing tailored to customer specifications.
MET Laboratories has been a pioneer in testing certification services and continues to be in the forefront of the standard's industry with deep expertise in helping manufacturers of wireless and radio devices go to market. More about MET's wireless testing. |

ACTA adjusts filing fees
Effective May 1, 2008, the Administrative Council for Terminal Attachment (ACTA) has adjusted its fee for processing Telephone Terminal Equipment (TTE) applications intending to be included within the centralized database of Part 68 equipment. The new fee is $425.00 At the same time, the fee for processing, posting and maintaining a Responsible Party's Supplier Declaration of Conformity (sDoC) on the ACTA website will also be adjusted to $425.00 (per submission). These changes apply to all telephone terminal equipment approved for connection to the PSTN (Public Switch Telephone Network), regardless if submitted by a TCB or via a Supplier's Declaration of Conformity process. Clients of MET's TCB services should contact MET if you have any questions.
MET, in June 2000, was one of the first labs approved by the FCC to act as a Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB), As a TCB, MET performs the evaluation of testing for radio and telephone equipment that was previously the sole responsibility of the FCC. MET is authorized to issue Grants of Equipment Authorization for any equipment for which there is a defined rule part and procedure within Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Following the issuance of this Grant, the Grantee will immediately be free to begin marketing the device in the United States.
MET can handle all the testing required for Part 68 and Canadian DOC certifications. |
