Environmental Simulation Testing and Certification
NEBS | HALT/HASS | | ISTA Transit | Mil-Spec | Fiber Optics | Performance Test Comparative Test | Failure Evaluation | Special Services | Consumer Products

MET evaluates products and systems to extreme environmental conditions in our Environmental Simulation Laboratory. Testing is automated through computer controlled systems to maximize accuracy and repeatability.

MET has many environmental chambers including large walk-in chambers and several vibration exciters. MET's hydraulic vibration systems are capable of full level (Zone 4) seismic simulation. MET can perform temperature, humidity and vibration testing simultaneously.

Testing is performed in accordance with military standards such as 810, 202, 167, European and commercial standards such as IEC 68, IEC 529, and SAE J1211 and SAE J1455. MET can also develop or test to customer specified standards.

MET provides an array of
Green Testing Services, from Verizon TEEER certification to Energy Star testing. Learn more, by clicking here.

Telcordia NEBS

MET is one of the few laboratories that can perform the complete Telcordia NEBS testing criteria, under one roof. MET certifies network equipment in accordance with the following Telcordia NEBS requirements:

GR-63-CORE
GR-1089-CORE
GR-78-CORE
GR-357-CORE
GR-487-CORE
TR-NWT-000078
TR-NWT-000357
TA-NWT-000457

MET performs all of the required Telcordia tests including EMC, seismic and flammability in convenient test facilities on both coasts. MET is a Verizon-certified Independent Testing Laboratory for NEBS. MET's certification program to these standards is acceptable to all of the Regional Bell Operating Companies, Bell Canada, and Independents.

MET can save you time and money by creating a custom test program which integrates domestic and international regulatory compliance for NEBS. For more information, e-mail info@metlabs.com.

HALT/HASS

HALT/HASS is one of industry's more widely accepted means of determining reliability of a product through accelerated reliability testing. The twin main stresses employed during HALT/ HASS are rapid temperature transitions and random vibration. This double dose of extreme exposure will reveal defects most likely to occur in the field, in real life application. This seminar will go into greater depth on the specifics of the various applied stresses, test set up fixturing, and developing matrixes for test results.

Our HALT/HASS chamber   Our HALT/HASS Qualmark Typhoon 2.5 chamber has a temperature range of +200°C to -100° C, with a max ramp rate of >60°C/min. It has a vibration range of 50 Grms (10Hz to 5kHz) and 60 Grms (10Hz to 1kHz). It is the perfect test chamber for both Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) and Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) applications.
ISTA Transit Testing

MET has been approved by ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) as a testing laboratory to support the ISTA TRANSIT TESTED program. In addition to determining the effectiveness of packaging, the ISTA series of test standards are also a good method to determine any weak links in the manufacturing process. These tests can be instrumental in pointing out any flaws within soldered joints, moving part sub-assemblies, and strength in fastening methods of handles, knobs, etc.
Manufacturers should consider undergoing the ISTA TRANSIT TESTED program at MET before committing to a full production run.
For a more information on the ISTA TRANSIT TESTED program, e-mail info@metlabs.com.
